To deal with "email" you need access to email servers (incoming and outgoing) and an email client (a program or app with which you process your emails), the tasks of these two programs (client/server) are completely different.

It should also be noted that you should not access with multiple (different) clients at the same time, as this can corrupt the file that stores which emails you have already read, making you unable to access at all until this is fixed (or deleted) by the postmasters.

Institute's Email Server

For institute's email servers we distinguish between "real servers" (there is hardware at the institute running e-mail server software) and "virtual servers", which "exist" only in TUGRAZonline (or the mailgates).

Since the TU Graz repeatedly receives forged emails in which attachments with potentially dangerous content are transmitted, the Rector has decided to filter certain attachments.
